It seemed so routine, coming to the diner everyday after your college classes. Honestly, it felt like home. Most of the waiters and waitresses seemed to know you by name, and you always ordered the same thing: their famous- and finest, you might add- chocolate cream pie. It was always SO good! You’d always dig in, and be done within minutes. Sometimes you’d order a second slice, but that didn’t happen too often. You’d pay for your pie, leave a tip, then exit, to continue to your daily activities.

But today, it was different.
Today, there were two guys sitting where you normally sat. They were handsome, you added, but it wasn’t really your spot, you just sat there every time you came here. It didn’t matter really, what was one spot in this place anyway? You always carried the same book bag with you, so anyone who knew you could spot you out in a crowd.

You place your order: one slice of their chocolate cream pie, and wait patiently, pulling out your cell phone for any new text messages or emails. “Dean no, leave the girl alone.” You hear, and it sounds like it’s coming from where those two guys were sitting. You turn to look to your left, and one of the men is staring at you, his cup of what you presumed to be coffee held in one hand near his face. His companion seemed to be checking the place out, ignoring you.

You lock eyes with the guy on your left, and man, you can’t believe the color. Even from a distance, they’re a beautiful green, the most beautiful green you’ve ever seen. They were like emeralds… No even more beautiful. Like the color of trees in summer months, all of the different shades of green as the sun’s rays shine through tree branches. That was it, that was the color. It felt like hours staring at him, but it was only a minute, maybe some seconds that passed before you broke his stare, feeling a light heat in your cheeks.
You don’t even notice that he moved closer to you. You collect your cool by looking the opposite direction, taking a bite of your pie that you ordered. You turn to look back at the man, and he’s now sitting right beside you.

“I heard the pie here is good.” He spoke, looking at you. Your face heats up gently, and you nod in reply. You’re quite speechless, considering he came right up to you, and plopped down beside you like you were best friends.
“I-I come here everyday after class to get some, if that makes it sound better.” You respond, crossing your legs, hoping to become more comfortable.
“You go to school at the local college then.” He shot back at you. It didn’t seem like a question, but it’d be rude not to answer. So you answer.
“Yeah, I do… Why?”
“Well, you heard about the recent deaths of four teenage girls that attended, right?”
Was this guy stupid? Of course you knew, you ATTENDED the place for crying out loud! But you simply nod, not wanting to cause a scene, as you take more pie and stuff it in your mouth.
“Did you know any of them at all?” He asked, raising a brow, taking a swig of the drink he’d had earlier. You guessed he brought it over.
“No, I didn’t.” You reply solemnly. He nods. You watch him get up, walk over to the man he came in with, and watch them talk. You try not to pry, but you do lean in a little, to catch what they’re talking about.

From what you pieced together, the man you were talking with was named Dean, and his companion was Sam. They were at the diner after hearing only recently about the deaths on your college campus. After they had paid, Dean sent you a small salute, then walked out the door. Your eyes followed him, and saw him step into his 1967 Black Chevrolet Impala- which you had to admit, sounded really sweet- and drive off. You didn’t see him or his brother again. Did they figure out what happened on campus? You’d never know. But what you did notice that day, when you talked to him, the pie tasted a little bit sweeter.
I got the urge, so I wrote.
If you're looking for a relationship with any of the boys, you won't find it here.
I thought also: "What if Sam and Dean ask about things that happened when they were on a case?"
